Your Guide from our initial Consultation to the Closing Table!
Adriane Blackwood has all the qualities you are looking for in a Professional Realtor. She has a sharp mind, a big heart and a radiant personality. She is as authentic as they come and she professes proudly that she and her husband Patrick are "Blue Collar Folks." She is the kind of person you want as an advocate in the often murky waters of real estate, a workhorse with a servant heart of pure gold!
Adriane was born at Brookwood Hospital in Homewood, Alabama and grew up nearby in Hoover. She was a competitive child and developed a passion for twirling at a young age, thus she excelled as a majorette for the Hoover High School Band ((Go Bucs!)). She has marched the fields of college football bowl games, to include the Orange Bowl and the ever prestigious National Championship. Twirling would actually have a major impact on her adult life, as her talent would lead her to band camp her freshman year, where she was formally introduced to Patrick for the first time. They went on their first date on May 5, 1995 and the rest is history for these two high school sweethearts. They attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham together and were married in Las Vegas in June of 2002.
After graduation and prior to becoming a mom, Adriane worked as a legal assistant for 6 successful attorneys in Birmingham, while Patrick joined the family business, a drywall company called Wall Systems Incorporated. Both Patrick and Adriane are self-described beach bums, having vacationed in Orange Beach and Gulf Shores every summer for as long as they can remember. If you ask Adriane, she will tell you that she can "feel her soul in the sand." Their affection for the area grew over the years, so much so that they found themselves longing for a way to make Baldwin County their permanent home. Their prayers were answered in August of 2013, when Patrick accepted a position with Austal as a "Joiner." Adriane had their house in Shelby County sold and the family fully relocated by November. To earn extra money for the family during this transitional period, Adriane went to work part-time for the Baldwin County Public School System and the Hot Wheels Skate Center as a bus driver. You will still find Adriane behind the wheel during the school year, due to her love of children and her strong relationship with the Hot Wheels owners, Terry and Jennifer Eady.
The couple would eventually settle in Daphne's Lake Forest subdivision, with their two children Sunny age 11 and DJ age 8. The house had a basement, which is rare for our area and it was also overlooked the golf course. The family gets a lot of use out of all the amenities that the Lake Forest Property Owners Association maintains, especially the outdoor pool. When they are not sunning at the pool or playing in the surf at the beach, you will find the Blackwood's at the ball fields cheering on Sunny's soccer match or DJ's baseball game. The kids are thriving in the Daphne School System and the family could not be happier with the amazing outdoor lifestyle that the Eastern Shore and Coastal Alabama provides.
Adriane's interest in real estate peaked in her adolescence, tagging along with her mom as she went to home building shows and interior design firms in preparation for the construction of the family's custom dream home. The process from start to finish left a lasting impression on Adriane, so much so that she's a Southern Living Magazine addict to this day. Top Producing Homebuyer Specialist, Adrienne Gill of the JWRE Team, actually sold Adriane and Patrick their home in Lake Forest and encouraged her to take the leap of faith and get her real estate license. Adriane knew that her passion for the industry and her own experience with successfully completing a major relocation would greatly benefit others trying to navigate through a similar chapter of life. Today, Adriane Blackwood works as a vital member of the Gill Realty Group, handling a large database of real estate clients, from the initial consultation to the closing table.
